We also use applied technology expertise to serve the defense, entertainment, material handling, aerospace, science, and renewable energy industries.Position SummaryPurposeInstructs classroom and hands-on application of Oceaneering remotely operated vehicle technical theory and operation of electronic and electrical systems, hydraulic systems and sub-systems including component repair, replacement, and maintenance and troubleshooting.Duties & ResponsibilitiesFunctionsESSENTIAL§ Instructs all aspects of electrical and hydraulic systems associated with Oceaneering remotely operated vehicles, complex subsea tooling, surface and subsea workover systems.§ Mentors and assess students’ ability to troubleshoot ROV control and associated systems.§ Instructs theory of troubleshooting on fiber-optic components and test equipment.§ Instructs theory of troubleshooting on hydraulic systems.§ Instructs proper operation and maintenance of analytical test equipment.§ Instructs basic ROV piloting to include the use of sub-sea navigational equipment.§ Establishes and maintains parts and supplies associated with all classrooms and hands on applications associated with instruction and curriculum development.§ Troubleshoot and repair training aids and equipment.§ Assists in the development and maintains course curriculum.Supervisory Responsibilities§ This position has no supervisory responsibilties.QualificationsQualificationsREQUIRED§ Four (4) years ROV Technician / Pilot or 4 years of electrical and electronics experience; hydraulics and or fluid power system experienceKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics§ Knowledge of appropriate steps to analytical problem solving.§ Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.§ Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.§ Treats others fairly and with respect.§ Knowledge of department's policies, rules, regulations, business goals, vision, organizational structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, and values, etc.§ Ability to establish and maintain project priorities.§ Seeks out new learning experiences.§ Identifies what needs to be done and acts before being asked or required.§ Ability to work with departments to determine updated training requirements.Working ConditionsThis position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.§ Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.§ Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.§ Work surface is stable (flat).§ May require travel including overseas.Physical Activity/RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
